SVG to PNG Converter
Turn a standalone SVG into a PNG at the size you need. Keep transparency, choose a background, or export extra pixels for a sharp logo or icon.

Local conversion uses your browser’s SVG renderer. Fonts and advanced SVG support can differ from your design app. Review the PNG before using it.
How to convert SVG to PNG
- Choose a standalone SVG file or paste its complete markup. A valid width and height, or a usable
viewBox, tells the converter its size. - Set the width you need. Keep proportions on for a proportional height, or turn it off to set a custom canvas and choose fit, fill or stretch.
- Choose transparency or a solid background and an export scale. Select Convert to PNG, inspect the preview, then download.
Pixel dimensions, scale and transparency
A 240 × 120 SVG exported at 2× produces a 480 × 240 PNG. Use that PNG at 240 × 120 CSS pixels for a higher density display. PNG is a fixed-size, lossless raster image; enlarging it later does not add detail.
Fit keeps the whole source viewport and may add empty space. Fill covers your chosen canvas and may crop edges. Stretch changes the proportions. Transparent export preserves transparent regions; selecting a background fills them with a solid color.
Absolute SVG units use 96 CSS pixels per inch. This tool sets pixel dimensions, not custom print-DPI metadata. Percentage or automatic source sizes need a valid viewBox; files with no usable size are rejected.
Supported SVGs and common fixes
Supported artwork includes paths, basic shapes, text, groups, gradients, clipping, masks and bounded internal references. Inline presentation styles are supported. SVG stylesheets, filters, raster images, animation, scripts, HTML and remote resources are rejected with a reason.
If your SVG uses a <style> block, export it with presentation attributes or inline styles. If text looks different, convert it to outlines in your editor; only fonts available locally can render. Text, gradients and clipping use the browser’s implementation.
Limits are 1 MiB of UTF-8 SVG, 5,000 elements, 64 nesting levels, 128 internal references, 8,192 pixels on either output side, 16 million total output pixels, and a 32 MiB PNG download. Complex files or memory-constrained devices may still need a smaller or simplified export. If a file read or PNG encode times out, reload this page before converting again so unfinished browser work cannot accumulate.
Privacy and standards
Conversion runs in this browser tab. This tool does not upload, store, or put your SVG, filename or PNG in a URL or send it to analytics. Reset releases its input and output. The shared site may measure ordinary page visits. External resources are blocked, so there is no URL import and no font download.
The converter follows SVG viewport and viewBox rules, CSS absolute length conversions, and the Canvas PNG export API. Your original SVG is never inserted into this page.
